How a Vene Construction kitchen remodel works
Kitchen remodels go better when the sequence is clear. Ours is straightforward: define scope, order materials early, move through the trades in order, and close out the punch list before the job drags.
Free on-site estimate
We walk the kitchen with you, review the existing layout, and talk through what is staying, what is moving, and what the house is likely to hide once demo starts.
Scope and schedule
Before work starts, we outline the order of operations: demo, rough-ins, cabinets, tops, tile, and trim. You know what happens when and where the kitchen will be unusable.
Materials selection
Cabinets, countertops, tile, flooring, fixtures, hardware, and paint get selected early enough to keep the job moving. If a lead time will affect schedule, we tell you.
Build
Once materials and scope are set, we move through the build in order, with daily cleanup and close supervision during the major handoffs.
Walkthrough and warranty
At the end, we walk the kitchen with you, finish the punch list, and hand off the project clean. The one-year workmanship warranty starts after final approval.

Common challenges in older Lehigh Valley kitchens
Older kitchens often need more than finishes and cabinets. These are four issues we check for early so the estimate reflects the real scope before work starts.
Knob-and-tube wiring
A lot of pre-1950s homes in Catasauqua, Allentown, and Bethlehem still have knob-and-tube runs hiding in the kitchen walls. Once we open drywall, we pull it back to a safe junction point and run new PA-code circuits for counters, disposal, and a dedicated microwave line — so your insurance carrier and your kitchen inspector are both happy.
Galvanized plumbing
Galvanized supply lines rust from the inside out, restricting flow and eventually springing pinholes. If we find them during demo, we replace the runs we expose with copper or PEX rather than reconnecting to pipe that will leak in five years. We tell you up front when that's part of the scope.
Out-of-square walls & sloped floors
Settled 1920s rowhomes rarely have square corners or level floors. We shim, scribe, and fur out as needed so cabinets hang plumb, countertops sit flat, and tile lays without lippage — instead of hoping nobody notices.
Undersized range venting
Older kitchens often have a recirculating hood that dumps grease and moisture back into the room. We run proper ducted exhaust through the wall or roof with the correct CFM rating for your range, sealed and flashed so you don't trade a cooking problem for a moisture problem.
